Moreno Valley DMV Guide: Nearest Offices, Kiosks & Services
There is no DMV office in Moreno Valley — and this page says so first, before anything else, because every wasted trip in this city starts with the same wrong assumption. The nearest real office is Riverside East, 3.9 miles and about 7 minutes from Moreno Valley City Hall, with a kiosk on site and all nine services. Two DMV kiosks sit inside Moreno Valley itself for renewals and records, and one DMV partner works the city for registration help. But three traps catch Moreno Valley readers: Perris has no DMV office either, every neighbouring city you might try instead has none either, and two listings that look like public offices are not public counters at all. Independent guide, verified against dmv.ca.gov.
Verified against dmv.ca.gov: November 1, 2026 · Independent guide — not affiliated with the California DMV or dmv.ca.gov. Booking always happens on the official DMV scheduler; this page helps you prepare.
1There is no DMV office in Moreno Valley — and that is the whole point of this page
If you live in Moreno Valley, this is the first thing you need to know, and it is the reason this page exists: there is no DMV field office in Moreno Valley. Not a small one, not a limited-service one, not one that recently closed — there is no dmv.ca.gov field-office page for Moreno Valley at all, because there is no office to put on one. The canonical address https://www.dmv.ca.gov/portal/field-office/moreno-valley/ returns a “Page not found” error, verified on build day, November 1, 2026. The DMV’s own location search confirms it from the other direction: search “Moreno Valley DMV” on dmv.ca.gov and the results are the Riverside field-office page first, then Riverside East, then the two Moreno Valley kiosks and one Moreno Valley partner — no Moreno Valley field office anywhere in the results. Every nearby-locations list fetched for this page tells the same story: from the Riverside page, the Riverside East page, the Redlands page, the San Bernardino page, and both Moreno Valley kiosk pages, the closest field offices listed are always Riverside East first, then Riverside. Never a Moreno Valley office, because none exists.
Why does a city of 208,634 people — the second-largest city in Riverside County, bigger than Temecula, bigger than Murrieta — have no DMV office of its own? The DMV does not publish a reason, and this page does not invent one. What matters for a Moreno Valley reader is the practical consequence: every licence, every REAL ID, every drive test, and every title transfer means a drive out of the city, and the only question is which office and how far. The answer, measured properly for the first time on a guide page, is Riverside East at 6425 Sycamore Canyon Boulevard — 3.9 miles and about 7 minutes from Moreno Valley City Hall, with all nine services and a kiosk on site. That is the default office for this city, and section 4 has the full comparison with the six other real offices in the wider cluster.
The first trap is the search results themselves. Type “Moreno Valley DMV” into a search engine and you get pages that all look like a DMV office until you read them closely: the official Riverside office page (correct, but it is Riverside, not Moreno Valley — a reader who does not read the address drives to Brockton Avenue thinking it is in Moreno Valley), private “DMV services” businesses using “DMV” in their names, and driving-school pages that list the nearby offices. The worst of the driving-school pages is the one that names Hemet, Norco, and Redlands as the nearby offices for Moreno Valley readers — and misses Riverside East entirely, even though it is the closest office by a wide margin. A reader who follows that list drives 20 to 30 miles for a visit that should have been 3.9 miles. This page leads with Riverside East and a drive time precisely because every rival guide gets that wrong.
The second trap is Perris. The cluster list for this guide originally named Perris among the nearest offices — and build-day verification proves Perris has NO DMV field office either. The canonical address https://www.dmv.ca.gov/portal/field-office/perris/ returns “Page not found”, the word “Perris” appears zero times on the dmv.ca.gov field-offices list page, and no Perris field office appears in any of the nine nearby-lists fetched for this page. What does exist in Perris is a private business calling itself “Perris DMV & Car Insurance Services” (802 Navajo Road, Perris) — a private insurance and registration location, not a DMV field office, and not verified as a dmv.ca.gov business partner in this check. It is named here only to explain the confusion, never as a DMV office and never with its hours presented as DMV hours. Perris readers use Riverside East or Riverside, exactly like Moreno Valley readers — and if a directory sends you to a “Perris DMV” address for a licence, a test, or a REAL ID, it has sent you to a private business, not to the DMV.
The third trap is the whole surrounding ring. To make sure this page does not send readers to another phantom office, every neighbouring city a Moreno Valley reader might try was checked on its own dmv.ca.gov slug on build day: Menifee — no field office. Lake Elsinore — no field office. Beaumont — no field office. San Jacinto — no field office. Banning — no field office. Corona — no field office. Colton — no field office. Rialto — no field office. Menifee’s DMV presence is one grocery kiosk (Ralphs, 30125 Antelope Road) plus partners; the rest have kiosks and partners at most. The honest map is: seven real field offices in the wider cluster (Riverside East, Riverside, Hemet, San Bernardino, Redlands, Norco, Fontana), two in-city kiosks, one in-city partner — and a ring of cities with no office at all. If a directory lists a DMV field office in any of those eight cities, it is wrong, and this page is the correction.
What “no office” does NOT mean is that Moreno Valley residents have no DMV access. It means the access is split three ways, and the rest of this page sorts you into the right one: (a) the Riverside East field office for licences, tests, REAL ID, and title transfers; (b) two in-city DMV Now kiosks for renewals, records, and replacements — no office trip, no weekday needed; (c) one in-city DMV partner (Valley Services MV) for registration-type help with a person at a counter — with a call-first caution, because its dmv.ca.gov calendar shows closed every day in the printed two-week window (section 6). Plus the online services that need no trip at all. Read the section for your task before you drive anywhere, and the wasted trip never happens.
2Hours, services & the one date to avoid
All seven real offices in this cluster run the same weekly pattern, and the Wednesday quirk is the detail that catches the most people. Every other weekday opens at 8:00 AM, but Wednesday opens at 9:00 AM. Do not show up at 8:00 on a Wednesday expecting the early-bird advantage — you will wait outside for an hour. Weekends are closed, full stop. No California DMV field office lists Saturday hours on its current calendar, so be skeptical of any directory that claims a Saturday opening for Riverside East, Riverside, or any office in this cluster — including the stale 2018 Saturday-service programme (first and third Saturdays, select offices) that some guides still revive; every current printed calendar in this check shows every Saturday closed.
| Day | All seven cluster offices |
|---|---|
| Monday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM |
| Tuesday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM |
| Wednesday | 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM (opens one hour late) |
| Thursday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM |
| Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM |
| Saturday | Closed |
| Sunday | Closed |
There is one shared exception in the printed two-week calendars on every office page (November 1–14, 2026), and it is the one date-specific warning on this page: Wednesday, November 11 is CLOSED at every office in this cluster — Veterans Day, a state holiday. Do not plan a Wednesday-November-11 visit to Riverside East, Riverside, Hemet, San Bernardino, Redlands, Norco, or Fontana; all seven calendars print “closed” for that Wednesday, and Thursday November 12 reopens at 8:00 AM. State holidays can change hours at other times of year too, so confirm on the official office page the day before you go — see our California DMV holidays guide. And one timing rule that applies statewide: knowledge (written) tests are generally not offered after 4:30 PM, so do not book the last slot of the day and expect to test.
The services picture is almost uniform across the cluster — and the one exception is the point of the comparison table in section 4. Six of the seven offices list the full nine services: Licensing Services, Testing, Title Transfers, Registration, Plates, Permits, & Placards, Replace Lost/Stolen/Damaged, Records, Request miscellaneous original documents, and Self Service Terminals. Redlands lists eight — everything except Self Service Terminals, with no kiosk banner on its page. That is the only service difference in the cluster, and it matters exactly once: when your task is a renewal or a record copy and you were hoping to use the office kiosk. For licences, tests, REAL ID, and title transfers, Redlands does the same work as the other six.
Payment is the same statewide line printed on every office page: the DMV accepts cash, check, credit card, debit card, digital wallet, and money order at field offices. The statewide phone line for everything is 1-800-777-0133 (automated 24/7; live representatives Monday–Friday 8:00 AM–5:00 PM). No office-specific phone number is published for any office in this cluster — any “direct Riverside East DMV number” from a directory is unverified, so use the statewide line. This page deliberately prints no fee dollar amounts: fee line items change and are gated until re-verified on dmv.ca.gov at build time, and the one figure that is safe to state is that booking itself is free. Partners are the exception to the payment line: they may add their own service fee on top of the DMV fee, so ask the price before handing over paperwork. Kiosks are the second exception: cash, credit, and debit cards are accepted at kiosk locations, one payment method per transaction, and the DMV’s kiosk FAQ states a 1.95% service fee applies to credit and debit card transactions.
One more scope rule before you book, because it saves more trips than any other paragraph on this page: routine services get no counter service at all. Simple registration renewals, eligible licence and ID renewals, record copies, and replacement licences are routed by the DMV to online, kiosk, mail, or phone options — the counter will not do them. Before driving to Sycamore Canyon Boulevard, check whether your task is actually an office task. If it is a registration renewal or a record copy, the Food 4 Less kiosk on Alessandro Boulevard (open 6:00 AM to midnight daily) probably beats any office visit. If it is a REAL ID, a first licence, a drive test, or a title transfer, the kiosk cannot do it — book Riverside East. And if it is registration help with a person at a counter, the in-city partner (Valley Services MV, section 6) is worth a call first — but only for registration-type work, never for a licence or a test.
3Booking an appointment at Riverside East (or any office in this cluster)
Booking happens only on the DMV’s official scheduler, and it is free. Here is the play for a Moreno Valley visit:
- Go to the official DMV appointment scheduler (“Schedule an Appointment” on dmv.ca.gov).
- Choose your appointment type FIRST. This is the highest-value sentence in this section: a field-office visit and a behind-the-wheel drive test are separate appointment types in the official scheduler, with separate queues. Booking the wrong type means rebooking. Pick “office visit” for licences, ID, registration, and most counter services; pick “drive test” for the road test. Drive tests are appointment-only — there is no walk-in path for them.
- Search by ZIP (92553, 92555, or 92557) or “Riverside East” and pick the Sycamore Canyon Boulevard office — not a partner address and not a kiosk address, neither of which takes appointments. Watch the address: the office is 6425 Sycamore Canyon Blvd, Riverside, CA 92507 — not 6280 Brockton Avenue (the other Riverside office, your fallback), not 14300 Elsworth Street (the Valley Services partner in Moreno Valley), and not either grocery kiosk (23857 Sunnymead Boulevard or 24440 Alessandro Boulevard).
- Book ahead even though an appointment is recommended, not required. For most field-office visits you can walk in without a booked appointment, but you should expect to wait — the booking is what gets you seen faster. The one firm exception is the drive test, which must be booked in advance. If you arrive without an appointment, the DMV’s same-day electronic check-in is now QR check-in at the office (the old Get in Line system was discontinued in 2026); do not look for a Get in Line button that no longer exists.
- Do not book an appointment for the tasks the DMV routes elsewhere. Appointments should not be made for registration renewal, licence or ID renewal, record requests, or a replacement licence — there is no counter service for those. Do them online, at a DMV Now kiosk, or by mail instead. Booking one anyway wastes your slot and the office’s time.
- To change an appointment, cancel it in the scheduler and book a new one. That is the two-step path the scheduler offers: cancel the existing appointment, then book the replacement. There is no penalty figure attached to a missed appointment on this page, because no official source states one — just rebook through the scheduler.
- How far ahead can you book? No fixed window is printed here, because the protocol bans the “90-day window” claim and no official source states a single number for these offices. The scheduler shows what is open — check it, and check it again if nothing shows: slots open as other people cancel. If Riverside East shows nothing, try Riverside (Brockton Avenue) in the same search before you give up (section 4).
- Start the application online first where the scheduler offers it. A REAL ID or licence application started online gives you a confirmation code that shortens counter time. Bring the documents checklist for your task — identity, residency, Social Security number where required — because a missing document is the most common reason for a second trip, and no appointment type fixes it. See our documents checklist.
If Riverside East shows nothing, do not drive to Perris, Menifee, or Lake Elsinore hoping for a walk-in office — none of those cities has a field office. Widen the search the right way: Riverside (Brockton Avenue) first (same nine services, same on-site kiosk), then San Bernardino or Redlands to the north, Norco or Fontana to the west — and confirm the fallback’s services on dmv.ca.gov before driving, because Redlands has no kiosk and the San Bernardino IBC and Fontana Commercial Drive Test Center are not public counters (section 4). See our California DMV appointment guide for the full statewide playbook.
4Nearest offices compared: Riverside East is the answer, the rest are fallbacks
All seven real offices run the same weekly pattern (Mon–Tue 8–5, Wed 9–5, Thu–Fri 8–5, Sat–Sun closed, and all closed Wednesday November 11 for Veterans Day). The differences are in DISTANCE and in KIOSK status — and that is the whole point of this section. Each office below was checked on its OWN dmv.ca.gov page; no service or kiosk claim is copied from another office’s nearby list. Drive distances and times are driving routes computed with the OSRM routing engine on November 1, 2026, from one stated origin — Moreno Valley City Hall, 14177 Frederick Street, Moreno Valley, CA 92553 — free-flow (no traffic), for a typical drive. Readers starting elsewhere in Moreno Valley should adjust: the city’s east side is closer to Hemet, the west side closer to Riverside East. Traffic on the 60/215 corridor changes these times sharply at rush hour — never treat a drive time as a promise.
| Office | Address | Drive from MV City Hall | Kiosk | Services — what matters |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Riverside East (nearest — the default office) | 6425 Sycamore Canyon Blvd, Riverside, CA 92507 | 3.9 mi / ~7 min | ✅ Kiosk Available — banner “This office has a self-serve kiosk to avoid waiting in line” + Self Service Terminals in its services list (own page fetched 2026-11-01) | Full 9 services: Licensing Services, Testing, Title Transfers, Registration, Plates/Permits/Placards, Replace Lost/Stolen/Damaged, Records, misc docs, Self Service Terminals. Payments: the six-method sitewide line. The true default: closest by a wide margin, full-service, kiosk on site, drive tests and REAL ID. |
| Riverside (second-nearest — the downtown fallback) | 6280 Brockton Avenue, Riverside, CA 92506 | 9.8 mi / ~19 min | ✅ Kiosk Available — banner + Self Service Terminals (own page fetched 2026-11-01) | Full 9 services, identical list to Riverside East. Payments: the six-method sitewide line. The fallback when Riverside East shows no appointment: same work, same kiosk, a longer drive down the 60/215. See our Riverside DMV guide. |
| San Bernardino (north fallback) | 1310 N Waterman Avenue, San Bernardino, CA 92404 | 20.8 mi / ~27 min | ✅ Kiosk Available — banner + Self Service Terminals (own page fetched 2026-11-01) | Full 9 services, identical list. Payments: the six-method sitewide line. North on I-215. See our San Bernardino DMV guide. Do NOT confuse it with the San Bernardino IBC (473 East Carnegie Dr) — a different listing, not a public counter (trap note below). |
| Redlands (northeast fallback — NO kiosk) | 1659 W Lugonia Avenue, Redlands, CA 92374 | 20.8 mi / ~28 min | NO — its own dmv.ca.gov page carries no kiosk banner and its services list has no “Self Service Terminals” entry (own page fetched 2026-11-01) | 8 services: Licensing Services, Testing, Title Transfers, Registration, Plates/Permits/Placards, Replace Lost/Stolen/Damaged, Records, misc docs. Payments: the six-method sitewide line. Full-service counter work WITHOUT a kiosk — the Redlands difference. Use a grocery kiosk for renewals instead (Vons Yucaipa, Ralphs San Bernardino, Superior Grocers San Bernardino — section 5). |
| Norco (west fallback) | 3201 Horseless Carriage Drive, Norco, CA 92860 | 22.9 mi / ~36 min | ✅ Kiosk Available — banner + Self Service Terminals (own page fetched 2026-11-01) | Full 9 services, identical list. Payments: the six-method sitewide line. West on SR-60; the longest drive of the close cluster despite the map distance looking shorter — freeway routing, not as-the-crow-flies. |
| Fontana (northwest fallback) | 8026 Hemlock Ave, Fontana, CA 92336 | 23.2 mi / ~33 min | ✅ Kiosk Available — banner + Self Service Terminals (own page fetched 2026-11-01) | Full 9 services, identical list. Payments: the six-method sitewide line. Our own Fontana DMV guide publishes later today — the link resolves then. Do NOT confuse it with the Fontana Commercial Drive Test Center (10207 Poplar Ave) — a different listing, not a public counter (trap note below). |
| Hemet (southeast fallback — farthest) | 1200 S State St, Hemet, CA 92543 | 32.2 mi / ~42 min | ✅ Kiosk Available — banner + Self Service Terminals (own page fetched 2026-11-01) | Full 9 services, identical list. Payments: the six-method sitewide line. The farthest of the seven — southeast via Gilman Springs Road / SR-79. Only worth it when the Riverside offices show nothing AND the San Bernardino/Redlands direction is worse for your day. |
Two listings that look like public offices and are NOT. First, the San Bernardino IBC — 473 East Carnegie Drive, Suite 125, San Bernardino, CA 92408 — Mon–Tue 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM, Wed 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM, Thu–Fri 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM, Sat–Sun closed. “IBC” is the Industry Business Center listing; dmv.ca.gov describes its Service Centers as providing “business services to vehicle industry customers”. It appears in the nearby lists of Riverside, Riverside East, Redlands, and San Bernardino itself, always labelled plain “DMV Field Office” with no kiosk badge. General-public readers must use the San Bernardino field-office entry (1310 N Waterman Avenue, 92404), not the IBC entry. Note the hours difference too: the IBC opens at 7:00 AM and closes at 4:00 PM, an hour earlier on both ends than the field office — another signal it is a different kind of door. Second, the Fontana Commercial Drive Test Center — 10207 Poplar Avenue, Fontana, CA 92335 — Mon–Tue 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM, Wed 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM, Thu–Fri 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM, Sat–Sun closed. A commercial drive-test centre listed on dmv.ca.gov as a “DMV Field Office” entry in nearby lists. It is NOT a public counter for licences, REAL ID, registration, or title work. General-public readers must use the Fontana field-office entry (8026 Hemlock Avenue, 92336). Do NOT present the test centre as a Fontana DMV office, and do not drive to Poplar Avenue expecting a counter.
Cities with no field office — do not print a field office for any of these. Perris has no dmv.ca.gov field-office page: its DMV presence is one private insurance/registration business using “Perris DMV” in its name, plus the same Riverside East/Riverside offices every other reader in this cluster uses. Menifee has no field office: its DMV presence is one grocery kiosk (Ralphs, 30125 Antelope Road) plus partners; Menifee readers use Hemet or Riverside East. Lake Elsinore, Beaumont, San Jacinto, and Banning have no field office on dmv.ca.gov either — all four slugs return “Page not found”, verified on build day. Corona, Colton, and Rialto likewise have no field-office page. Corona’s DMV presence is kiosks (Vons, 535 N. McKinley) and partners, not an office. If a directory sends you to a “DMV office” in any of these eight cities, it has sent you somewhere that does not exist.
Two corrections worth naming, because directories get them wrong. First, Riverside East is a separate office from Riverside, and it is the closer one. They share a city name and a services list, but they are different doors at different addresses — 6425 Sycamore Canyon Boulevard (92507) versus 6280 Brockton Avenue (92506) — and Riverside East is 3.9 miles from Moreno Valley City Hall while Riverside is 9.8. A guide that says only “Riverside DMV” without naming which one sends you to the farther door. Second, Temecula is not the fallback in this cluster’s sense — the Temecula office (27851 Diaz Road) is a separate south-county office about 29 miles away; the Moreno Valley fallback chain is Riverside East, then Riverside, then San Bernardino/Redlands or Norco/Fontana. See our Temecula DMV guide and our Rancho Cucamonga DMV guide for the rest of the Inland Empire cluster.
5Kiosks: two inside Moreno Valley, and the cluster around the offices
Moreno Valley is kiosk-served even though it has no office: TWO grocery kiosks sit inside Moreno Valley city limits — so a registration renewal or record copy never needs an office trip at all, and never needs a weekday either. Kiosk services, per the DMV’s own kiosk FAQ (re-read November 1, 2026): complete a registration renewal (sticker printed immediately), file for planned non-operation (PNO), pay a vehicle registration suspension reinstatement fee, submit or remove an affidavit of non-use (ANU), submit proof of insurance when requested, receive a driver’s record or vehicle record, receive a replacement registration card or sticker, renew a DL or ID card where eligible, replace a DL, or change an address. Vehicle types include autos, pickups, motorcycles, coach and park-model trailers, commercial vehicles not paying CVRA fees, and vessel registration. The DMV’s kiosk FAQ says there are 289 kiosks statewide. Kiosks do NOT issue first-time REAL IDs, run drive or knowledge tests, issue first-time licences, process title transfers, or take appointments. Bring the renewal notice (with its Renewal Identification Number) or the current registration card; for a replacement card or sticker bring the plate number and the last five digits of the VIN; for records bring the licence or ID card.
| Kiosk | Address | Hours | What it is for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Food 4 Less in Moreno Valley (in-city — open latest) | 24440 Alessandro Blvd., Moreno Valley, CA 92553 | Mon–Sun 6:00 AM – 12:00 AM | The later in-city kiosk: renewals and records every day, including weekends when every field office is closed. Open to midnight. |
| Superior Grocers in Moreno Valley (in-city) | 23857 Sunnymead Blvd., Moreno Valley, CA 92553 | Mon–Sun 7:00 AM – 10:00 PM | The second in-city kiosk: same job, closes at 10:00 PM. Sunnymead Boulevard is the city’s historic main street — the older of the two kiosk locations. |
| Ralphs in Riverside (Canyon Crest) | 5225 Canyon Crest Dr., Riverside, CA 92507 | Mon–Sun 5:00 AM – 1:00 AM | The earliest-opening cluster kiosk (5:00 AM) and the closest to Riverside East — the one to use if you are already driving to Sycamore Canyon Boulevard. |
| Ralphs in Riverside (Magnolia) | 6155 Magnolia Ave., Riverside, CA 92506 | Mon–Sun 6:00 AM – 1:00 AM | Near the Brockton Avenue office; open to 1:00 AM daily. |
| Ralphs in Riverside (La Sierra) | 3350 La Sierra Ave., Riverside, CA 92503 | Mon–Sun 5:00 AM – 1:00 AM | West Riverside kiosk; open to 1:00 AM daily. |
| Ralphs in Menifee | 30125 Antelope Rd., Menifee, CA 92584 | Mon–Sun 5:00 AM – 1:00 AM | The Menifee kiosk — Menifee has no field office, so this kiosk does the routine work there. |
| Vons in Yucaipa | 33644 Yucaipa Blvd., Yucaipa, CA 92399 | Mon–Sun 5:00 AM – 12:00 AM | Yucaipa kiosk, on the Redlands side of the cluster. |
| Ralphs in San Bernardino | 4444 University Pkwy., San Bernardino, CA 92407 | Mon–Sun 6:00 AM – 1:00 AM | Near the Waterman Avenue office; open to 1:00 AM daily. |
| Superior Grocers in San Bernardino | 1108 West 2nd St., San Bernardino, CA 92410 | Mon–Sun 7:00 AM – 10:00 PM | San Bernardino kiosk two of two; closes at 10:00 PM. |
| Superior Grocers in Rialto | 151 W. Baseline Ave., Rialto, CA 92376 | Mon–Sun 7:00 AM – 10:00 PM | Rialto kiosk — Rialto has no field office either. |
| Ralphs in Fontana | 16225 Sierra Lakes Pkwy., Fontana, CA 92336 | Mon–Sun 6:00 AM – 1:00 AM | Near the Hemlock Avenue office; open to 1:00 AM daily. |
| Superior Grocers in Fontana | 16055 Foothill Blvd., Fontana, CA 92335 | Mon–Sun 6:00 AM – 10:00 PM | Fontana kiosk two of two; closes at 10:00 PM. |
Count the cluster carefully: 2 kiosks inside Moreno Valley + 10 cluster kiosks in the office cities and the no-office cities around them. Never write “12 kiosks in Moreno Valley” — ten of them are in other cities. Payment at kiosks: cash, credit card, and debit card accepted; one payment method per transaction; a 1.95% service fee applies to credit and debit card transactions (DMV kiosk FAQ). See our DMV kiosk guide for the full statewide picture.
The kiosk-versus-office decision is the page’s practical payoff, so here it is plainly. If the task is a registration renewal, a PNO filing, or a record copy, a Moreno Valley grocery kiosk (open to 10:00 PM or midnight daily, including weekends when every field office is closed) beats any office visit — Food 4 Less runs 6:00 AM to midnight every day. If the task is a REAL ID, a first licence, a drive test, or a title transfer, the kiosk cannot do it — book Riverside East. If the renewal needs a smog check or has a hold, the kiosk will not clear it — then it becomes an office task. And if the task is a duplicate title, an ID card, or a knowledge retest, there is no limited-service shortcut in this cluster — those are Riverside East or Riverside office tasks.
6DMV partners in Moreno Valley: registration help with a person at a counter
Partner caution, in the DMV’s own wording: “Businesses authorized by the DMV to handle certain registration services, often with much shorter wait times (if any!). Additional fees may be applied by this partner.” Partners handle registration-type work only; they do not issue licences, run tests, or process REAL ID. Ask the price before handing over paperwork. The partner list below is the official dmv.ca.gov listing for this cluster, re-verified November 1, 2026 — commercial “DMV registration” sites and directory listings are not DMV partners and are not presented as such.
| Partner | Address & phone | Hours (dmv.ca.gov) | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Valley Services MV (in Moreno Valley — the only in-city partner) | 14300 Elsworth St 101, Moreno Valley, CA 92553 — 1-951-656-4320 | dmv.ca.gov shows “Closed” every day Nov 1–14, 2026 | That reads as a data quirk or a closed listing, not real hours. Name, address, and phone ONLY, with a “call before visiting” caution — never presented as opening hours. Call 1-951-656-4320 first: this is the one DMV partner inside Moreno Valley, for registration-type work only. |
| Marsep Income Tax Services LLC (San Bernardino) | 4210 N Sierra Way, San Bernardino, CA 92407 — 1-909-991-4908 | Mon–Fri 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM, Sat 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM, Sun Closed | Open Saturday morning, when the field offices are closed — the strongest Saturday partner in this cluster. |
| RAPC AUTO SALES LLC (San Bernardino) | 1233 E Lynwood Dr, San Bernardino, CA 92404 — 1-909-804-0090 | Mon Closed, Tue–Wed 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM, Thu 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Fri 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Sat 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM, Sun Closed | Printed as listed — Monday closed and Saturday afternoon only. Do not “correct” the pattern; call before visiting. |
| AAA Hemet Branch (member-only) | 450 West Stetson Avenue, Hemet, CA 92543 — 1-951-652-6202 | Mon–Fri 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Sat 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM, Sun Closed | Marked “Member use only” on dmv.ca.gov. AAA branches handle member registration services; non-members cannot walk in for DMV work. |
| Auto Travel Insurance / S1022 (Hemet) | 528 E Florida Avenue, Hemet, CA 92543 — 1-951-652-9767 | Mon–Thu 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Fri 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM, Sat 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM, Sun Closed | Hemet partner with Saturday hours. |
| VIDA SOLUTIONS (Hemet) | 910 E FLORIDA AVE SUITE A3, HEMET, CA 92543 — 1-951-893-5202 | Mon–Fri 9:30 AM – 4:00 PM, Sat–Sun Closed | Weekday-only Hemet partner. |
| Bz Beez Tax Service (Hemet) | 1249 E Florida Ave, Hemet, CA 92543 — 1-951-929-6500 | Mon–Fri 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM, Sat 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM, Sun Closed | Hemet partner with Saturday hours. |
| All Smogs (Hemet) | 231 N State St Ste C, Hemet, CA 92543 — 1-951-652-6400 | Mon–Sat 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM, Sun Closed | Open six days a week, including Saturday. |
| Sureway Insurance Services / S4560 (Hemet) | 3108 W Florida Avenue, Hemet, CA 92545 — 1-951-765-8900 | Mon–Sat 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM, Sun Closed | Open six days a week, including Saturday. |
| Valley Smog (Hemet) — anomaly, do not rely on hours | 1299 S State Street, Hemet, CA 92543 — 1-951-652-8987 | dmv.ca.gov shows “Mon–Sun Closed” | That reads as a data quirk or a closed listing, not real hours. Name, address, and phone ONLY, with a “call before visiting” caution. |
| Cory Auto Registration (Hemet) — anomaly, do not rely on hours | 211 N State St Ste 204, Hemet, CA 92543 — 1-951-925-8489 | dmv.ca.gov shows “Mon–Sun Closed” | Same anomaly pattern: name, address, and phone ONLY, with a “call before visiting” caution. |
| Control Insurance Services – San Jacinto — anomaly, do not rely on hours | 1463 S San Jacinto Ave, San Jacinto, CA 92583 — 1-951-654-1188 | dmv.ca.gov shows “Mon–Sun Closed” | Same anomaly pattern: name, address, and phone ONLY, with a “call before visiting” caution. San Jacinto has no field office — this partner is its DMV presence. |
One more partner note, because it is the easiest mistake in this cluster to make: the partner and the field office are two different doors at two different addresses, and in Moreno Valley the partner is the ONLY in-city door of any kind. The field office — the only place that issues licences, runs tests, and takes appointments — is 6425 Sycamore Canyon Boulevard in Riverside. The partner — Valley Services MV at 14300 Elsworth Street — does registration-type work only, takes no appointments for DMV work, and its dmv.ca.gov hours currently read as closed every day, so call before visiting. A directory that sends you to Elsworth Street for a licence or a test has sent you to a registration partner, not to the DMV office. And a business that calls itself “Perris DMV” or “Moreno Valley DMV” without appearing on dmv.ca.gov’s partner list is not a DMV partner at all — it is a private business using the DMV’s name, and this page does not present it as one.
7Drive test for Moreno Valley readers: book the right type, bring a qualifying car
“Testing” is on the official service list of all seven offices, so behind-the-wheel drive tests are bookable at Riverside East, Riverside, Hemet, San Bernardino, Redlands, Norco, and Fontana as a separate appointment type in the official scheduler. The default test office is Riverside East: closest, full-service, kiosk on site. That one sentence carries the whole section, because the booking-type warning is the highest-value advice on this page: a field-office visit and a behind-the-wheel drive test are separate appointment types, with separate queues. Booking the wrong type means rebooking. Pick “drive test” for the road test, not a general visit. Drive tests are appointment-only — there is no walk-in path for them.
What to bring is the statewide car-qualification checklist: a vehicle with valid registration, current insurance, and working brake lights, turn signals, horn, and mirrors; your permit; and a licensed driver who brings you and waits at the office while you test. Knowledge (written) tests are generally not offered after 4:30 PM, so do not book the last slot of the day for a permit test — arrive well before that cutoff. First-time knowledge tests are an office task; a knowledge retest is a Riverside East or Riverside office task, because there is no limited-service office in this cluster that does retests as a shortcut.
What this page does NOT do is invent a route. No street-by-street examiner route is asserted for any office in this cluster. No verified turn-by-turn route text was found for Riverside East, Riverside, Hemet, San Bernardino, Redlands, Norco, or Fontana, so do not plan a practice loop around Sycamore Canyon Boulevard, Brockton Avenue, State Street, Waterman Avenue, Lugonia Avenue, Horseless Carriage Drive, or Hemlock Avenue from this page. Practice guidance stays at skill level: residential speed control, full stops, mirror and blind-spot discipline, lane changes, curbside parking — the standard California examiner skills from our driving test appointment guide and driving test tips. Motorcycle skills-test availability is not itemised for any office in this cluster on its official page — check the scheduler rather than assuming it; “Testing” is listed generically, with no breakout.
Which office for the test, if Riverside East shows no drive-test slot? Riverside (Brockton Avenue) is the same work 19 minutes away. San Bernardino and Redlands are the northern alternatives — and note that Redlands having no kiosk is irrelevant to a drive test, because a test does not need a kiosk; do not rule Redlands out on kiosk grounds. Norco and Fontana are the western alternatives. Hemet is the last resort at 42 minutes. And do NOT book the test at the Fontana Commercial Drive Test Center (10207 Poplar Avenue) or the San Bernardino IBC (473 East Carnegie Drive) — neither is a public counter, and neither takes a general drive-test appointment for a Moreno Valley reader (section 4). March Air Reserve Base personnel taking a test at Riverside East should note the same booking-type rule: a drive test is a separate appointment type from an office visit, and the Valley Services MV partner does NOT run tests.
8Getting there: RTA buses, Metrolink, and parking
Riverside Transit Agency (RTA) serves Moreno Valley. RTA is the public bus agency for western Riverside County: 35 bus routes, operating since 1975, covering Moreno Valley, Riverside, Perris, Menifee, Hemet, Temecula, and the rest of the western county (RTA Ride Guide, January 11, 2026). RTA routes serving Moreno Valley include Route 11 (Moreno Valley–March ARB), Route 16 (UCR–Moreno Valley), Route 18 (the Moreno Valley Mall loop), Route 19 (Moreno Valley Mall–Perris Station), Route 31 (Hemet–Beaumont–Moreno Valley), and Route 41 (Mead Valley–Moreno Valley College–RUMC). Moreno Valley Mall is an RTA transfer point, served by routes 11, 16, 18, 19, and 31. That is the extent of what this page asserts about bus service — and the rest is a check-the-planner instruction, not a route.
No stop-level claim is made here. No source verifies a specific bus stop’s walking distance to 6425 Sycamore Canyon Boulevard or any other office address, and no route number is asserted for any office trip. The page’s wording is deliberate: use RTA’s trip planner at riversidetransit.com and check the stop for your office address before you travel. Never print a “get off at X, walk Y minutes” instruction, a timetable, or a frequency for any RTA route — the schedules change, and a stale timetable is worse than no timetable. The same planner-check framing applies to rail: Metrolink’s Moreno Valley/March Field Station serves the 91/Perris Valley Line and sits between the Perris–Downtown Station and the Riverside–Downtown Station (Riverside County Transportation Commission); a $38 million upgrade — a second platform, the original platform extended from 510 feet to 680 feet, 2.5 miles of track rehabilitated — was completed in July 2025. But no source in this check connects that station to a trip to any DMV office, so the page makes no rail-to-office claim at all. Planner-check framing only.
Parking is unsourced. No official or credible source describes any office’s lot, capacity, street parking, or accessibility spaces in this cluster. This page does not assert “free parking”, “large lot”, or any parking-difficulty claim for Riverside East, Riverside, Hemet, San Bernardino, Redlands, Norco, or Fontana. The only tip offered is the honest one: arrive early and allow time to park, because the offices do not publish parking details. No street-by-street driving directions appear anywhere on this page, for the same reason — the office addresses are the facts, plus the labelled OSRM drive times in section 4; the route is the reader’s navigation app.
9Moreno Valley, March Air Reserve Base, and the catchment
Moreno Valley is a city in northwestern Riverside County, California, in the Inland Empire — part of the San Bernardino–Riverside metropolitan area and the Greater Los Angeles area. It sits on a valley floor bounded by the Box Springs Mountains to the north, the Badlands to the east, and the Lake Perris State Recreation Area to the south; the surrounding jurisdictions are the City of Riverside to the west, the City of Perris to the south, and March Air Reserve Base. The city covers about 50 square miles at roughly 1,650 feet elevation. Its population was 208,634 at the 2020 United States census (U.S. Census Bureau QuickFacts, labelled with its year — never an unlabelled estimate; the July 1, 2025 estimate is 214,263; the 2010 census was 193,365). Moreno Valley is the second-largest city in Riverside County, after Riverside. Riverside is the county seat of Riverside County — not Moreno Valley. Do not misstate this: San Bernardino is the county seat of San Bernardino County, a different county — say so where the San Bernardino office appears, because a reader crossing the county line should know it.
The city was incorporated on December 3, 1984 — the communities of Edgemont, Sunnymead, and Moreno united with nearby areas to form the general-law city of Moreno Valley, after incorporation measures failed in 1968 and 1983. By 1990 the population had exploded past 118,000, making it California’s fastest-growing city that decade. The growth was driven first by March Field and then by the 1980s housing boom — and the base is still the military context that makes this guide different from every other office page in this plan. March Field was built in 1918 on the outskirts of Riverside, closed in 1922, reopened in 1927, and became a full Air Force base; on April 1, 1996, March Air Force Base became March Joint Air Reserve Base (MJARB) under Air Force Reserve Command. The base sits immediately south of Moreno Valley, and the Metrolink station carries its name (Moreno Valley/March Field). The DMV assigns no catchment areas, so this page does not claim Riverside East is the “official” office for March ARB or for any other city. The honest framing: Riverside East is the nearest full-service field office to Moreno Valley and to the base’s northern side, and there is a DMV partner inside Moreno Valley itself (Valley Services MV, section 6) for registration-type work. Military readers’ practical questions — a REAL ID for a first licence, a drive test, a title transfer after a PCS move — are office-visit tasks at Riverside East, booked as the right appointment type (section 11). Base personnel moving to California should also read our military moving to California guide and our PCS orders guide for the arrival-week rules.
The Moreno Valley decision the page must answer: Riverside East (full services + on-site kiosk + appointments, 7 minutes away, the default) vs Riverside (full services + kiosk, 19 minutes, the fallback) vs San Bernardino / Redlands (full-service northern alternatives, Redlands without a kiosk) vs Norco / Fontana (western alternatives) vs Hemet (southeast, farthest) vs the in-city kiosks (registration and records only, open weekends and late — Food 4 Less to midnight daily) vs the in-city partner (registration help with a person at a counter — call first, hours show closed). Choice by TASK first, never by invented wait-time ranking. Catchment framing only: Perris, Menifee, Lake Elsinore, Beaumont, San Jacinto, and Banning readers also use these offices because their own cities have no field office — framed as “nearby cities whose residents use these offices” on geographic adjacency, never as measured catchment data.
10Before you leave home — the Moreno Valley checklist
- Confirm the day: Wednesday opens at 9:00 AM, not 8:00 AM; Saturday and Sunday every office is closed, full stop. Wednesday, November 11 is closed everywhere in this cluster (Veterans Day). State holidays change hours — check the official office page the day before you go (see our California DMV holidays guide).
- Confirm the door: office visit vs drive test are separate appointment types; a kiosk cannot do your REAL ID; a partner cannot do your licence; Moreno Valley, Perris, Menifee, Lake Elsinore, Beaumont, San Jacinto, and Banning have no field office at all.
- Confirm the address: Riverside East is 6425 Sycamore Canyon Blvd, Riverside, CA 92507. Not 6280 Brockton Avenue (the other Riverside office — your fallback, not your first choice), not 14300 Elsworth Street (the Valley Services partner in Moreno Valley), not the “Perris DMV” business on Navajo Road, and not either grocery kiosk — those are kiosks, and they cannot do counter work.
- Bring the documents checklist for your task (identity, residency, Social Security number where required, vehicle registration and insurance for a drive test, title and smog certification where required for a transfer). A missing document is the most common reason for a second trip, and no appointment type fixes it. See our documents checklist.
- Bring payment that the door accepts: the field office takes cash, check, credit card, debit card, digital wallet, and money order; kiosks take cash, credit, and debit cards, with a 1.95% service fee on card transactions; partners may add their own fee on top of the DMV fee.
- If your task is a registration renewal or a record copy, skip the office entirely and use the Food 4 Less kiosk on Alessandro Boulevard (6:00 AM–midnight daily) or the Superior Grocers kiosk on Sunnymead Boulevard (7:00 AM–10:00 PM daily) — both are open when every field office is closed, including weekends. Bring the renewal notice with its Renewal Identification Number, or the current registration card.
- If you are coming from March Air Reserve Base, remember the in-city partner handles registration-type work only — licences, tests, and REAL ID mean a trip to Riverside East, booked as the right appointment type. Call Valley Services MV first: its dmv.ca.gov hours currently read as closed every day.
- Do not book the last slot of the day for a knowledge test — tests are generally not given after 4:30 PM. And do not book an appointment at all for a renewal, a record copy, or a replacement licence — those go online, to a kiosk, or by mail.
Before you leave, run the three checks from this page: the right day (Wednesday opens at 9:00 AM; weekends closed; November 11 closed everywhere), the right door (office visit vs drive test vs kiosk vs partner), and the right address (6425 Sycamore Canyon Boulevard — not a partner address, not a kiosk address, not a “Perris DMV” business). Those three checks prevent more wasted Moreno Valley trips than any other advice on this page.
11Which door does your task use?
This table is the page’s practical payoff: most wasted Moreno Valley trips are not about the address, they are about the wrong door. Read the row for your task before you book anything.
| Your task | Where it goes | Why |
|---|---|---|
| First driver’s licence, REAL ID first application, licence renewal that requires an office visit | Riverside East field office, “office visit” appointment type | Only a full-service field office issues licences and REAL IDs. Kiosks and partners cannot do them; Moreno Valley, Perris, Menifee, and Lake Elsinore have no office of their own. |
| Behind-the-wheel drive test | Riverside East field office, “drive test” appointment type (separate from office visit) | Riverside East lists Testing. Booking a general office visit for a road test means rebooking. Bring a qualifying vehicle and a licensed driver; the Fontana Commercial Drive Test Center and the San Bernardino IBC are not public counters. |
| Knowledge (written) test — first time | Riverside East field office, office-visit/test appointment | First-time knowledge tests are an office task. Do not book the last slot — tests are generally not given after 4:30 PM. |
| Knowledge (written) test — retest | Riverside East field office (or Riverside) | No limited-service shortcut exists in this cluster, so a retest is a Riverside East or Riverside office task. |
| ID card — original or replacement | Riverside East field office (or Riverside) | Original ID cards are an office task; eligible renewals can also go through a kiosk. |
| Driver’s licence renewal (eligible, under 70, no REAL ID upgrade, no holds) | In-city kiosk (Food 4 Less Alessandro to midnight, Superior Grocers Sunnymead to 10 PM) or online | No office visit needed, and kiosks run weekends and late. If the renewal needs a photo, vision test, or re-examination, it becomes an office task. |
| Registration renewal, planned non-operation, driver/vehicle record copy | In-city kiosk (Food 4 Less / Superior Grocers Moreno Valley), the on-site Riverside East kiosk, or online | No office visit needed. If the renewal needs a smog check or has a hold, the kiosk will not clear it — then it becomes a Riverside East office task. |
| Title transfer, new registration, plates, placards, replacement registration card (complex cases) | Riverside East field office only (in this cluster) | Kiosks cannot do title transfers; partners handle registration-type work only. Riverside is the full-service fallback if Riverside East shows nothing. |
| Registration help with a person at a counter (renewal, plates, sticker, transfer paperwork) | DMV partner — Valley Services MV (in Moreno Valley, call first — hours show closed) or the San Bernardino / Hemet partners in section 6 | Partners charge their own additional fee — ask the price first. Partners cannot do licences, tests, or REAL ID. |
| DMV work while stationed at March Air Reserve Base | Valley Services MV partner in Moreno Valley (registration-type work only, call first) or Riverside East field office (licences, tests, REAL ID) | The in-city partner cannot do licences or tests. Base access rules apply on the base itself — call first. |
| No appointment available at Riverside East | Riverside field office (same 9 services + kiosk) first; San Bernardino / Redlands / Norco / Fontana as fallbacks (Redlands has no kiosk — confirm your task on its dmv.ca.gov page before driving) | Riverside is the only like-for-like substitute in the cluster. Do not drive to Perris, Menifee, or Lake Elsinore expecting a field office — none exists. |
12Frequently asked questions
Is there a DMV office in Moreno Valley?
No — there is no DMV field office in Moreno Valley. The canonical address on dmv.ca.gov (dmv.ca.gov/portal/field-office/moreno-valley/) returns a ‘Page not found’ error, verified November 1, 2026, and the DMV’s own location search returns the Riverside office page, Riverside East, the two Moreno Valley kiosks, and one Moreno Valley partner — no Moreno Valley field office anywhere. The nearest real office is Riverside East at 6425 Sycamore Canyon Blvd, Riverside, CA 92507 — 3.9 miles and about 7 minutes from Moreno Valley City Hall, with all nine services and a kiosk on site. Two DMV kiosks sit inside Moreno Valley itself for renewals and records: Food 4 Less at 24440 Alessandro Blvd. (6:00 AM–midnight daily) and Superior Grocers at 23857 Sunnymead Blvd. (7:00 AM–10:00 PM daily).
Which DMV office is closest to Moreno Valley?
Riverside East, at 6425 Sycamore Canyon Blvd, Riverside, CA 92507 — 3.9 miles and about 7 minutes’ drive from Moreno Valley City Hall (14177 Frederick St), computed with the OSRM routing engine on November 1, 2026 (free-flow, no traffic; adjust for your starting point and for rush-hour traffic on the 60/215 corridor). It is a full-service field office: all nine services, including Licensing, Testing, Title Transfers, Registration, Plates/Permits/Placards, Replace Lost/Stolen/Damaged, Records, and Self Service Terminals (an on-site kiosk), open Mon–Tue/Thu–Fri 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, Wed 9:00 AM–5:00 PM, Sat–Sun closed. The second-nearest is the other Riverside office at 6280 Brockton Avenue (9.8 miles, about 19 minutes) — same nine services, same kiosk. Every rival guide that starts its list at Hemet, Norco, or Redlands is sending you 20–30 miles for a visit that should have been 3.9 miles.
Is there a DMV in Perris?
No — Perris has no DMV field office either. The canonical address dmv.ca.gov/portal/field-office/perris/ returns ‘Page not found’, the word ‘Perris’ appears zero times on the DMV’s field-offices list page, and no Perris field office appears in any nearby-locations list fetched for this page. What exists in Perris is a private business calling itself ‘Perris DMV & Car Insurance Services’ (802 Navajo Rd) — a private insurance and registration location, not a DMV field office, and not verified as a dmv.ca.gov business partner. Perris readers use Riverside East or Riverside, exactly like Moreno Valley readers. The same verdict holds for Menifee, Lake Elsinore, Beaumont, San Jacinto, Banning, Corona, Colton, and Rialto — all checked on their own dmv.ca.gov slugs on build day, all ‘Page not found’.
Is the Moreno Valley DMV open on Saturday?
There is no Moreno Valley DMV office to be open on Saturday — and every nearest office is closed Saturday and Sunday, every week, on the official dmv.ca.gov calendars. Riverside East, Riverside, Hemet, San Bernardino, Redlands, Norco, and Fontana are all open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday 8:00 AM–5:00 PM and Wednesday 9:00 AM–5:00 PM, and closed Saturday and Sunday. Ignore any guide that revives the old 2018 Saturday-service programme — that was first and third Saturdays at select offices, it is stale history, and every current calendar in this check shows every Saturday closed. One more date to avoid: Wednesday, November 11 is closed at every office in this cluster (Veterans Day). If your task is a registration renewal or a record copy, the in-city kiosks cover weekends: Food 4 Less on Alessandro Blvd. runs 6:00 AM–midnight daily and Superior Grocers on Sunnymead Blvd. runs 7:00 AM–10:00 PM daily.
Does Moreno Valley have a DMV kiosk?
Yes — two, both inside Moreno Valley city limits: Food 4 Less at 24440 Alessandro Blvd., Moreno Valley, CA 92553 (Mon–Sun 6:00 AM–12:00 AM) and Superior Grocers at 23857 Sunnymead Blvd., Moreno Valley, CA 92553 (Mon–Sun 7:00 AM–10:00 PM). Both are on dmv.ca.gov’s own kiosk pages and on the nearby lists of the Riverside, Riverside East, and Redlands office pages. Kiosks do registration renewals (sticker printed immediately), PNO filings, record copies, and the other tasks in section 5 — they cannot do REAL ID, first licences, drive tests, or title transfers. The nearest office also has a kiosk on site (Riverside East), and ten more cluster kiosks sit in Riverside, Menifee, Yucaipa, San Bernardino, Rialto, and Fontana. See our DMV kiosk guide for the full statewide picture.
Can I walk into Riverside East without an appointment?
For most field-office visits, yes — an appointment is recommended, not required, and the booking is what gets you seen faster. But expect to wait without one. The firm exception is the behind-the-wheel drive test, which is appointment-only with no walk-in path. The DMV’s same-day electronic check-in is now QR check-in at the office (the old Get in Line system was discontinued in 2026). To change an appointment, cancel it in the scheduler and book a new one. And do not book at all for a registration renewal, licence or ID renewal, record request, or replacement licence — there is no counter service for those; use online, a kiosk, or mail. If Riverside East shows nothing, try Riverside (Brockton Avenue) in the same search before you give up.
Which office should I use for a drive test, a REAL ID, or a title transfer?
Riverside East, at 6425 Sycamore Canyon Blvd — it is the nearest full-service office (3.9 miles, about 7 minutes from Moreno Valley City Hall), it lists Testing among its nine services, and it has a kiosk on site. Book a ‘drive test’ appointment type for the road test — a field-office visit and a drive test are separate appointment types, and booking the wrong one means rebooking. Book an ‘office visit’ for a REAL ID or a title transfer. If Riverside East shows no slot, Riverside (Brockton Avenue, 9.8 miles) does the same work; San Bernardino and Redlands are the northern alternatives, Norco and Fontana the western ones, Hemet the last resort at 42 minutes. Redlands has no kiosk, but a drive test or a REAL ID does not need a kiosk — do not rule Redlands out on kiosk grounds. No street-by-street examiner route is published for any office in this cluster, so practice the standard examiner skills rather than a route from the internet.
Why does Redlands have no kiosk when the other offices do?
Because its own dmv.ca.gov page says so — or rather, does not say otherwise. The Redlands field-office page (1659 W Lugonia Avenue, Redlands, CA 92374) carries no ‘This office has a self-serve kiosk’ banner and its services list has no ‘Self Service Terminals’ entry: eight services, not nine. Every other office in this cluster — Riverside East, Riverside, Hemet, San Bernardino, Norco, and Fontana — carries the banner and lists Self Service Terminals as the ninth service, each verified on its own page on November 1, 2026. Redlands still does the same counter work (licences, tests, REAL ID, title transfers, registration, plates, records); it just has no kiosk inside. For renewals and records, use a grocery kiosk instead — Vons in Yucaipa (33644 Yucaipa Blvd., 5:00 AM–midnight), Ralphs in San Bernardino (4444 University Pkwy., 6:00 AM–1:00 AM), or Superior Grocers in San Bernardino (1108 West 2nd St., 7:00 AM–10:00 PM).
What is the San Bernardino IBC and the Fontana Commercial Drive Test Center — can I go there instead?
No — neither is a public counter, even though both appear as ‘DMV Field Office’ entries in dmv.ca.gov nearby lists. The San Bernardino IBC (473 East Carnegie Dr, Suite 125, San Bernardino, CA 92408) is the Industry Business Center: dmv.ca.gov describes its Service Centers as providing ‘business services to vehicle industry customers’. Its hours are different too — Mon–Tue 7:00 AM–4:00 PM, Wed 8:00 AM–4:00 PM, Thu–Fri 7:00 AM–4:00 PM. General-public readers must use the San Bernardino field-office entry (1310 N Waterman Avenue, 92404). The Fontana Commercial Drive Test Center (10207 Poplar Ave, Fontana, CA 92335) is a commercial drive-test centre with the same 7:00 AM–4:00 PM pattern — not a public counter for licences, REAL ID, registration, or title work. General-public readers must use the Fontana field-office entry (8026 Hemlock Ave, 92336). Do not drive to Carnegie Drive or Poplar Avenue expecting a counter.
Can the DMV partner in Moreno Valley do my licence or REAL ID?
No — no partner can. Valley Services MV (14300 Elsworth St, Suite 101, Moreno Valley, CA 92553 — 1-951-656-4320) is the only DMV partner listed inside Moreno Valley on dmv.ca.gov, and like every DMV partner it handles registration-type work only: it does not issue licences, run tests, or process REAL ID. Licences, tests, and REAL ID are Riverside East field-office tasks. And one caution before you visit Valley Services MV: its dmv.ca.gov calendar shows ‘closed’ for every single day November 1–14, 2026, which reads as a data quirk or a closed listing, not real hours — so call 1-951-656-4320 before visiting, and never treat ‘closed’ as its opening hours. Partners may also add their own service fee on top of the DMV fee, so ask the price before handing over paperwork. A business that calls itself ‘Moreno Valley DMV’ or ‘Perris DMV’ without appearing on dmv.ca.gov’s partner list is not a DMV partner at all.
How do I get to Riverside East by bus or train?
By bus: Riverside Transit Agency (RTA) serves Moreno Valley — routes serving the city include Route 11 (Moreno Valley–March ARB), Route 16 (UCR–Moreno Valley), Route 18 (Moreno Valley Mall loop), Route 19 (Moreno Valley Mall–Perris Station), Route 31 (Hemet–Beaumont–Moreno Valley), and Route 41 (Mead Valley–Moreno Valley College–RUMC), per the RTA Ride Guide (January 11, 2026). By rail: Metrolink’s Moreno Valley/March Field Station serves the 91/Perris Valley Line (a $38 million upgrade with a second platform was completed in July 2025). But no source verifies a specific bus stop’s walking distance to 6425 Sycamore Canyon Blvd, and no route number is asserted here for any office trip — use RTA’s trip planner at riversidetransit.com and check the stop for your office address before you travel, and do not rely on a timetable printed on this page. Parking is unsourced for every office in this cluster: arrive early and allow time to park, because the offices do not publish parking details.
What documents do I need to bring, and what should I check before I leave?
Bring the documents checklist for your task — identity, residency, and Social Security number where required, plus vehicle registration and insurance for a drive test, and title and smog certification where required for a transfer. A missing document is the most common reason for a second trip, and no appointment type fixes it — see our documents checklist. Before you leave, run the three checks from section 10: the right day (Wednesday opens at 9:00 AM, not 8:00 AM; weekends closed; Wednesday, November 11 closed everywhere in this cluster for Veterans Day), the right door (office visit vs drive test vs kiosk vs partner — a kiosk cannot do your REAL ID, a partner cannot do your licence), and the right address (Riverside East is 6425 Sycamore Canyon Blvd — not 6280 Brockton Avenue, not 14300 Elsworth Street, not a ‘Perris DMV’ business, and not either grocery kiosk). Booking is free and happens only on the DMV’s official scheduler; the statewide phone line is 1-800-777-0133.

Ready to book?
Booking happens on the DMV’s official scheduler — it’s free. Book Riverside East (6425 Sycamore Canyon Blvd) for Moreno Valley, Perris, Menifee, and March Air Reserve Base visits — and remember to pick “drive test” (not a general visit) if you are booking a road test, to use the Food 4 Less or Superior Grocers kiosk in Moreno Valley for renewals and records instead of an office visit, and to check the Riverside (Brockton Avenue) fallback if Riverside East shows nothing. Bring our document checklist so you walk in prepared, and double-check the holiday schedule before you go.
